"Get It" este cel de-al şaptelea cântec de pe albumul "Characters" (1987), album semnat de Stevie Wonder: compozitor, producător, interpret. Dar cântecul este important pentru că reprezintă reluarea, după opt ani, a colaborării dintre Michael Jackson şi Stevie Wonder: cei doi înregistraseră împreună piesa "I Can't Help It", scrisă de Wonder, pentru albumul "Off the Wall", dar şi "All I Do" - piesă scrisă tot de Wonder, pentru albumul său, "Hotter than July".

Cei doi, foşti "colegi" la Motown, au colaborat şi în vremea când Michael Jackson era membru al grupului Jackson 5 la piesa "You Haven't Done Nothin'".
Ceea ce este interesant e că partea lui Michael Jackson a fost produsă de Quincy Jones, în studiourile Sony din Tokio.
"Get It" a fost înregistrat în 1986 şi a avut parte de două lansări: una radiofonică, în Statele Unite - în decembrie 1987 şi cea "fizică", în mai 1988.
