Juriul premiilor Grammy a decis să îl distingă pe Michael Jackson pentru întreaga sa carieră, invocând pentru acest demers vocea sa inconfundabilă şi cariera unică, informează presa americană (care presă americană? are ea un nume?). Premiul va fi înmânat unui membru al familiei artistului, în cadrul ceremoniei celei de-a 52-a ediţii, care va avea loc la data de 31 ianuarie 2010, la Los Angeles. Michael Jackson avea o colecţie impresionantă de premii Grammy, 13 la număr.
"Incredibilul stil de dans al lui Michael Jackson, sound-ul său unic, vocea inconfundabilă au inspirat numeroşi artişti să depaşească limite culturale, etnice şi de generaţie", se spune în motivţia juriului.
