"Michael Jackson, described by his vocal coach, Seth Riggs, as a high tenor, was declared the 11th best vocalist in contempary music, according to MTV's 22 Greatest Voices in Music. He has recieved many awards for his vocal performance through-out his career.
  • a. MTV's 22 Greatest Voices in Music is a countdown of the greatest singers in contemporary music, by MTV and Blender Magazine. The countdown, which was aired in March2003, features vocalists from the different genres of music including Pop, R&B, Rock and Hip-Hop. The list was compiled by music industry critics, but fans were also given the opportunity to vote in a nation-wide poll conducted on MTV2.
  • b. In music, a tenor is a male singer with a high voice (although not as high as a countertenor). In four part chorale-style harmony, it is the second lowest voice, above the bass and below the soprano and alto. A typical tenor will have a range extending roughly from the C an octave below middle C to the C above middle C (i.e. C3-C5). In a mixed-gender choir, females may also sing as tenors. Unlike its female counterpart, the soprano, tenors are frequently required to execute the Tenor C on demand in order to be considered a true tenor.
Technically, Michael Jackson has one of the finest voices in contempary music. His first advantage is the natural speed of his voice. Michael Jackson has the ability to sing in staccato, and sing complex rhythms in perfect timing. The best recorded example of this is the title track from his 1979 album, Off The Wall.
  • In musical notation, staccato indicates that notes are sounded in a detached and distinctly separate manner with their lengths shortened; that is, a short silence should be between the notes, without affecting the rhythm. Notes identified as "staccato" should be played or sung abruptly and short. Usually notated by a dot over the head of the note when the stem is downward, or by a dot below the head of the note when the stem is upward.
Jackson's second advantage as a singer is his range. Michael Jackson's natural vocal range, before he breaks off into falsetto, goes from two E's below middle C, to two B's above middle C, or 44 notes. Essentially, Michael is able to reach octaves that other tenors cannot attain with their natural voice. The best example of Michael Jackson's range is a recording from (2004), titled "Beautiful Girl".
  • Falsetto (fall-SET-oh) is a singing technique that produces sounds that are pitched higher than the singer's normal range. It can also mean an artificially-raised speaking pitch. This often occurs momentarily, if repeatedly, in males during puberty as their voice changes. The break between voice registers, audible or not, is called the passaggio. The 'falsetto register' is used by male countertenors to approximate the register in classical voice that previously employed castrati, in pieces written after castratism became socially unacceptable, and eventually universally outlawed. It is also used by many male rock singers to produce their over-the-top soaring vocals:
Bob Geldof said of Michael Jackson's voice, "when (he) sings it is with the voice of angels..."."
Mai clar de atât nu se poate.

EXCEPŢIONAL şi chiar tulburător interviul postat pe site-ul Rolling Stone, în articolul Michael Jackson: Hear How He Wanted to Be Remembered
Asta-i ce-am reţinut din mers.
